Thursday, August 1, at 8 p.m. ET, is when the Chicago Bears and Houston Texans will square off in the 2024 Hall of Fame Game during Enshrinement Week in Canton, Ohio.

The game will take place in Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium, which is next to the Pro Football Hall of Fame, and will mark the beginning of the National Football League’s 105th season in the city where the league was founded.

The Bears (2023), who have won five of their previous eight games, will be the home team. They’ll make use of the bench along the stadium’s south sideline. After winning the AFC South, the Texans advanced to the divisional round of the 2023 playoffs and will start from the bench on the north sideline. Both teams play each other during the season. Will they play a 3rd game this year during the playoffs?

Pro Football Hall of Fame President Jim Porter stated, “This game features two teams that finished the 2023 season strongly and have key pieces in place for 2024.” “Texans fans will get a close-up look at the team’s first Hall of Famer during the game and Enshrinement Weekend, while Bears fans, who have always supported their Hall of Famers, can welcome three more to Canton this year.” The Pro Football Hall of Fame is incredibly enthusiastic about both this year’s class and the game this year.

Two days later, as members of the Class of 2024 presented by Visual Edge IT, legends from both franchises—DEVIN HESTER, STEVE McMichael, JULIUS PEPPERS, from the Bears, and ANDRE JOHNSON, from the Texans—will be inducted on Saturday, August 3, inside Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium, DWIGHT FREENEY, RANDY GRADISHAR and PATRICK WILLIS will also be inducted into the Hall of Fame.

The Bears have visited Canton six times, the most recent visit occurring in 2018. Before the team’s debut season, in 2002, the Texans made their only trip to the Hall of Fame Game.

Every year, Canton hosts the Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Week, a multi-day ceremony honoring the newest class of inductees.
